NEW: Friday, June 3, 2016 e-mail from Centerplan (full text) informing the City that their latest changes (CCD No.6), which directed Centerplan to, among other things, manufacture and install additional railings on the roof, would require almost 60 more days to perform. Centerplan asked for a discussion on these new City changes. The result was no response from the City on this matter, and the Mayor decided to wrongfully terminate Centerplan and padlock the ballpark the following Monday
The following documents and information related to the development of Dunkin' Donuts Park are to provide transparency regarding the facts of the project.
FACT: The City directed the contractor to perform hundreds of substantial changes to the scope and design of the ballpark just weeks before the completion deadline. These went well beyond code compliance issues and significantly impacted the schedule and costs of construction.
Items that were not designed by the architects and engineers (i.e. additional steel, new railings, more concrete, new lighting, etc.) which were not on the drawings - are not construction errors - they are design errors and omissions.
